I have long been drawn to the skill and story telling involved in quilt-making. The process of repurposing different bits of used material to create unique, artful whole patterns out of those bits is a tradition spanning many cultures. Since I cannot sew, I enjoy creating my own quilt-like images on canvas using a layering process with paint and textured mediums. The numerous sections painted on the canvas are representative of American cultural features, such as architecture, music, people, traditions, food and art. I attempt to make those bits work together in my own harmonious fashion.
