"Barnum"
36" X 48", acrylic on canvas. Strike up the band, the circus is in town! "Barnum" was created as part of my "Americana Series". This piece is a carnival of color and texture using over 50 tiny images plus the large main event image.

20" x 20", acrylic on canvas. Americana is defined as the concern with ordinary aspects of historic American culture. Jazz, carnivals, muscle cars, baseball and folklore are all unique to the American experience. What I wanted to accomplish with the series was to give the effect of a painting created on old barn wood, or possibly the notion of an heirloom quilt with it's myriad of colors and panels.
36" x 36", acrylic on canvas. This piece is named for arguably the best American jazz album ever created. Like jazz, this work is many small notes brought together to form the whole. Over 75 smaller images make up the entire painting.
24" x 30", acrylic on canvas. "Gatsby" is part of my new Americana series. This series is a study of the aspects and artifacts of American culture. Gatsby is a unique American character with multiple layers, personalities and textures, just as the painting.
24" x 48", acrylic on canvas. Named for the iconic mid-century architect, "Eichler" is meant to imbue my favorite form of residential architecture.
24" x 48", acrylic on canvas. Another in the "Figure Series". I wanted to depict how we are all one when it comes to community. We can either take center stage or only be a bit player, but, as it's been said before, it takes a "Village".
36" x 48", acrylic on canvas. Part of the "Figure Series", "Middle Management" has a moody, industrial feel. This piece is a departure from almost everything that I've done in the past. Figurative factories and little worker drones are a narrative for what's left of the American dream.
36" x 48", acrylic on canvas. A super nice example of my 'Stained Glass Series". Translucent, iridescent, and textured acrylic paints and mediums give this piece the look and feel of stained glass. Neat!
36" x 48", acrylic on canvas. OK, I'll admit that I've used this name for a couple of pieces, it's not exactly a series , but these pieces have a wonderful richness in the palette and depth of texture that I could only name them "Organic".
36" x 48", acrylic on canvas. A softer version than my usual "Stained Glass" series pieces, this one has more of a quilt-like feel and is an early study for what will become my "Americana" series.
36" x 36", acrylic on canvas. Part of the "Pop" series, "Crush" was named for the delicious orange soda of my childhood. Mmmmmm sugar.
36" x 48", acrylic on canvas. "Adrenaline" was a rare piece that was created all in one big rush. Most of this piece was still wet while the other parts were being created. Pure adrenaline for me.
30" x 40", acrylic on canvas. Moody and dark, just like me! Kidding, of course. "Bayou" is a study of nearly 25 subtle shades of blues and greens heavily textured using modeling paste and textured mediums.
12" x 48", acrylic on canvas. This series is my abstract way of visualizing an aerial view of a southwestern river bed or canyon. Tiny patches of blues, greens and reds add a little pop of color and iridescent gold, stainless and copper add a richness.
36" x 48", acrylic on canvas, part of my "Figure Series", over 30 orange and red variations make up this stunning piece depicting the power of "Two".
